    Posted mine bright and early this morning...nothing but a dream. But dreams sometimes come true. Ask Rudy.

    For the love of God nooooooooo...the last time Brady got into a real race he was trying to out bible study the other guy. For weeks the Pantagraph had his and the Ewing Spawn's letter writers talking about who attended Bible study more.

    And everyone wonders how Johnson, who is never to be confused with a frequent Bible study goer, won.

    Brady can't win because he's a terrible campaigner. He's completely unwilling to step outside of his comfort zone - and his comfort zone is limited to Central Illinois Country Clubs.

    The GOP "field" is shaping up to be a downstaters pipe dream parade. If JBT doesn't jump in, it's going to be lambs to the $20 million salughter.

    The GOP should just give all the campaign money to charity and give up.

    It'd speed things along, help out a lot of charities, and save a lot of misplaced energy.

    What, are they gonna bring in Mike Ditka and Alan Keyes again?

    Don't forget -- they also courted Dave Duerson for senate.

    So what's the roll call now:

    Ron "Elmer Fudd" Gidwitz;

    Ray "The Outsider" LaHood;

    Dan "Who?" Brady;

    Joe "Everyone liked me and my sunny disposition so much in 2002, I am definitely on board for 2006" Birkett;

    Judy Baar "What's a RINO?" Topinka;

    Do we have other takers:

    Where's scary Pat O'Malley when we need him?

    Has Ray Wardingly filed yet?

    Let's not forget Tom "I've got this really cool web blog" Cross. That ought to score a few points with the insiders.

    It's amusing to me that even after all that ethics training, the Governor's staff still has time to come over here and post stuff during business hours.

    Who cares who runs against Blagozo. The Republicans should spend more time nurturing fresh new viable candidates then trying to run the old tired dogs against the bankroll Blagozo is amassing. With his bank account he can spin commercials all over the state for the whole year prior to the election and make it seem as if he really did the the state some good. Anyway, wouldn't it be fun to watch a sitting Governor get indicted? When the closet door finally squeaks open and out falls the skeletons, look out. Anybody remember a president by the name of Nixon?

    Speaking of ethics training, all state employee's, except those that actually need it (Gov. & his Staff) have to take the training again starting in April. I wonder how much that contract cost us.
  • Lance Stevens · 4 years ago
    Do you think the Governor's staff really monitors the internet blogs?

    Well looks like Blagojevich gets to keep using the line about "not balancing the budget on the backs of working people" despite how much he is pissing off AFSCME and the teachers with this pension deal.

    "Brady promised not to raise income or sales taxes if elected and to reverse roughly $400 million in taxes and fees Blagojevich has increased. He said those taxes and fees have slowed Illinois job growth.

    Reversing them would add to the state budget deficit, now estimated to be at least $1.1 billion. Brady said Illinois spends too much on welfare, particularly health care for the poor, and should cut it to erase budget deficit. That would require deep cuts to the $7.7 billion Medicaid program."

    Illinipundit speaks of blogging on state time as an ethics violation. my how timkes have changed. its now an ethics violation for an employee to log on to a blog to offer an opinion during business hours, but it was fine for a state employee to remove state owned computers, place them in a political campaign office, and show up to work at the state job on occasion on occasion to make the place "look lived in." blago and his people are nothing compared to the crooks who have run this state into the ground. im not even policital, but you republicans are such a bunch of babys. stop whining and making accusations and go build your pathetic party.

    RUN BRADY RUN!!
  • ArchPundit · 4 years ago
    Brady might want to see the whacking Matt Blunt is taking in Missouri over Medicaid and related programs.

    Oh, what the hell, it'll be entertaining to watch.
  • Carl Nyberg · 4 years ago
    If the state stops paying for health care for the poor, what will happen?

    Will the poor stop getting sick?

    Or will the sick stop being poor?

    "Where's scary Pat O'Malley when we need him?"

    So true! I mean the current crop of candidates are losers, but really sort of ordinary average losers.

    This race needs a class A LO SER like PJO to make it interesting. There's nobody scary enough to get the ABATE / IRA endorsement yet.
