Carlito, hang in there buddy. And try to remember not to ask the docs and nurses all those nasty probing questions you like so much. They're not your favorite alderman and they simply have your life in their hands.

Rich, it is very much appreciated that you made it possible for so many of Carlos' fans to "get in to see him" so soon after his surgery. I know many of us would have had no idea how to get updates, or how to contact him with well wishes had you not opened up the special blog threads on Capitol Fax. Carlos, I've always appreciated your thoughtful reporting on WBEZ and spot-on comments on Chicago Tonight -- you think deep and on your feet at the same time, an enviable gift.
