Ike Carrothers -Q.E.D. ?
Who Let Al Keyes back in?
Assuming it doesn't matter to voters (at least some of them) would be foolish, especially with JBT's and Giuliani's positions on things like abortion.
How about helping Ralph Reed who is about to lose a LiteGov primary in GA because he worked for Jack Abramoff.
anyone asking how much of Bushie's trip to Chitown was picked out of the taxpayers pockets and how much came from the take at the funder?
Mary, waxing nostalgic about the lack of black crooks in the Daley administration and remembering the good old days when black folk fixed all the jobs, rigged all the contracts and controlled all the graft.
And Carol, demonstrating her complete lack of knowledge about how the City works by suggesting that Mara Georges was "of distinctly higher rank than any of the four defendants" because she answers directly to Mayor Daley.
Intergovernmental Affairs answered to nobody but the Mayor and Georges's job was to cover for them. Until the federal investigation, IGA could care less about Georges and she did what she was told.
As for Carol patting herself on the back thinking she did a good job exposing corruption, I would suggest that she has been reading her own press releases. It is obvious that she was-and still is clueless about how the City ran. It is also apparent that her opinion is easily manipulated by various administrations.
Great job gals.
Carol Marin, "knock em' dead"!
This has been proven to be false.
1. If she reports directly to the Mayor and the four men who were indicted, prosecuted and found guilty on some accounts didn't report exactly to Daley, then who would be more powerful with complete access to Daley.
2. If the Mayor has any legal troubles who is he going to contact the OIGA or Mara Georges?
Now who has the most power and closes connections to the Mayor?
Mara Georges!
By the way, Judge Coar seems to be a very intuitive judge. I think his statement that Mara Georges testimony was incredible is going to hold-up when he's sentencing and I believe that is when Carol Marin's notions about sentencing will take place.
Bottomline, these four men will not get the book thrown at them.
My prediction-probation to 12 months, or home confinement.
I believe so.................................
Someone has to answer for the jury misconduct and the judge and the prosecution have ethical duties to not only acknowledge, but address their misconduct. An investigation is appropriate to find out why these jurors purposely disobeyed the judges guidelines to not bring in external material into deliberation.
That is, not withstanding guilt or innocense of Georgeeeeee, to not grant a mistrial would be a miscarriage of justice.
Anyone who knows City government knows IGA was omnipotant. Your own statement proves the point. If she knew years ago that the hiring system could lead to legal problems why didn't she end it? The answer is because she couldn't.
