Trib has an item in its blog about a payment by Rod to a "strategist" in IOWA. That is WAY more frightening than the shirts.

Just FYI ... CafePress doesn't run those shops, they just provide the technology for others to do so. So buy away.

Just so everyone understands...cafepress allows anyone to design a shirt and post it for sale. The designer can set the price and cafepress then takes only the cost to print and deliver out of the sale. In other words, this isn't a cafepress thing, just someone from Illinois trying to make a buck or two early on...though they are apparently not someone I would like to spend much time with.

Yesterday's Springfield J-R editorial slammed Ryan for taking employee $$ as Christmas gifts and were outraged at this behavior. Where have they been the last 20 years? Where was the outrage when Big Jim Thompson took five $100 bills from an ex-felon as Christmas gift (look it up)? How about the "Thompson shelf" at the now closed antique shop on Monroe street where the things he wanted were placed "in the event someone was looking for a suitable gift for him". (It was the top shelf on the East wall.)
How about Edgar? Not only were the employees assesed a predetermined amount for his Christmas gift, but assessed again for his birthday present! At least once this went to buy a substantial gift-certificate at Herron' clothing store where Edgar liked to buy his clothes. Where's the difference?

I bought one of those shirts. I will be wearing it proudly this softball season. Hey if we can get him at least involved in the primary he will be out of the state and not just out of Springfield. Yes I am a Republican.

Apparently, they are also selling Al Sharpton, Donald Trump and Bruce Springsteen for President in 2008 t shirts as well. I would venture a guess that at present, Rod might poll about as well as Sharpton and would run a bit behind Springsteen and Trump.

I've bought dog related items from CafePress. Please tell me this is a joke!! I will never shop with them again if they are really making this T-Shirt, etc. He was useless the first time he went to Washington. He is not improving with age.
