It's almost over until it starts all over again on Wednesday with fewer candidates...

With all the money spent on this election and that money being special interest I think it is time for the people of Illinois to say enough!! Is there a way to put election reform "money" on the ballot? As long as we let the goverment decide what is good for it we will continue to have the prolbems that special interest brings. These guys and gals are just like a hog at the feeder, and will remain so until somthing is done. The only way to get a hog to stop eating is to quit feeding it!

Any incumbents likely to lose in the Primary tomorrow? I voted for Michael Nardello over Don Harmon in the 39th Senate district, but Harmon's got lots of money and machine backing, so my guy might not be one to pick for this.

Here's one prediction I'm pretty confident about. No matter what the outcome, the losers will claim they did better than expected given the obstacles they had to overcome, and/or they will blame the snow.

I hope that a public service announcement is made to radio stations affecting Dolton, Illinois. I have heard waaayy to many stories of voter intimidation when the Shaw brothers are candidates.

People in JBT's camp tell me they are less than enthusiastic about the bad weather heading IL's way.

Is it just me, or does it seem like this primary election doesn't hold the "excitement" of the one held four years ago?

The past four years have been pretty scandalous, despite there being nothing illegal proved. Are a majority of Illinoisans just plain bored with the political scene these days? Maybe "resigned" to the fact that despite every politician's pledge to "shake things up" is nothing more than a sound bite to favor their position?

People, I have become apathetic to the primary election.

    Thanks Rod. Thanks George.

And thank you special interests, who have turned elections into spending contests.

The people are no longer being properly represented.

Tomorrow's winner at the Polling places will be:

    Krispy Creme in a walk-away.

I am afraid bad weather is going to cut down on my man Edwin's numbers, but OTOH with Rod out ahead so far, perhaps more of his guys will skip going...

Well Bo, it seems that it is the lesser of many evils.
    1. Rod - business as usual
    2. Judy, same as above, but she is a woman
    3. Obie - nuts! I thought he was ethical, but he sought GHR's blessing, he is linked with the nuts at FTN and his pure hatred for JBT is disturbing. player, you don't need to lie to paint JBT as shady. Got straws?
    4. Gidwitz - I have been a long time insider, but I am a reformer (wink)
    5. Eisendrath - who, he seriously dropped the ball
    6. Brady - seems liek a good enough guy, but he is too conservative for many and has not gotten much momentum

Note to NIEVA: The opportunity you are apparently longing for will come in just over two years, when a madatory call for a new state Constitutional Convention will be put before the voers of this state on the 2008 General Election ballot.

The snow plows are out in full force this morning in downtown Springfield!

I noticed in previous days, that people are casting a protest vote and voting for Eisendrath to send a message to Blago. I wonder how many people will actually do this?

I also watched Rick Pearson on the WGN news tonight. He mentioned that Brady focused his efforts in central Illinois. I'm afraid the votes won't add up for him. If he is looking for Republican votes - he should of spent more time in the collar counties of cook.
  • YNM · 3 years ago
It's funny that the news reported Brady spent most of his efforts in central Illinois. Knowing his schedule and such, it seems he actually did a pretty good job covering the state and actually spent a good deal of time in the collars ... I assume those news reports were based on their assumptions and not actually any research.

Maybe they got their "facts" from Oberweis ... he seems to have a monopoly on "truthiness" these days.

    YNM-

I would love to see a match between Blago and Brady in the general election. Just commenting on what was said. Rick Pearson also writes for the Chicago Tribune. I'm not sure if they were measuring his efforts in the Chicago area against other candidates?....
  • YNM · 3 years ago
I know... I wasn't trying to snipe at you ... just some of the reports you and I both heard. I just know he's spent quite a bit of time up there - as well as down south and in the eastern and western parts of the state ... probably done as good a job getting throughout the state as any of the candidates.
