Must have been huge
was this a mandate?
If it is a significant margin, blagojevich supporters can rightly argue so. Due to the attention paid to this race, you can't really argue that the Blagojevich win is just a tag-along with the anti-bush wave. Unless, of course, Republican turnout is astronomically low.
But that low turnout might be Judy's own doing, anyway.
Will Judy be gracious in her concession speech? Should she be?
All I have to say is "really"? I noticed you didn't say anything about Kane County. Is it now downstate????
"If you want then her it is"??? Please explain - I didn't learn your English....
It's Toxman, thank you, and I was referring to the corruption totals. Please explain that to me. Us downstate, bare-foot people don't understand....

Bloomington precincts are separate and have not reported in.
I think there's time to open another bottle of tequila....
I'm going to ignore AP for another hour or two, until we get a better overall look. Downstate was key to Blags the first time around, have to see if it will be enough this year....
This was a sad day for Illinois. Here's to my game plan to move to another state.

No, in Illinois, invoking the Duke (John Wayne) would work.
Ken Dunkin is predicted to be re-elected. Whew.

Pavich has collected more votes than I thought he would in a very red county. He is not that well know and it shows that Weller is not that popular with many folks here.
I thought we were voting on two candidates for
Governor - Governor R. Blagojevich (yes, I have respect for the OFFICE) and Judy Topinka, not on outliers. I hope you are happy with your candidate. I was talking about the corruption in the Blagojevich administration - pay to play, dirty contracts, Rutan violations, checks for jobs, baby-sitters appointed to boards, and oh - Rezko (how could I forget). But again, I thought we were talking about the two candidates. As for now - congrats on your win - I hope you are proud to support Governor Blagojevich.

Also, for Geo's seat in the Senate, with 90% counted it's 51% Simpson and 49% Bond.
I forgot to add, "I am glad you received shoes from Blagojevich's Shoes for Democrats" program. Congrats - I hope you are proud.
Also known familiarly as 'AllKeds'
But I also don't think that an accurate exit poll would have him carrying the downstate Teamsters (assuming that in an exit poll, Teamster voters would be forthright and not be afraid of losing their jobs). Despite a huge attempt to get at the downstate Teamsters through their union newsletter, the message was backfiring. Downstate Teamsters are made up largely of the 45-59 age bracket and make more than $75,000 annually. Even though their union bosses were giving lip-service to backing him, the rank and file did not buy it. We'll have to see how some of the key downstate Teamster counties come in, ie. LaSalle, Will, Henry. While not enough to impact a statewide election, there are a bunch of Teamster union voters in those areas. If those counties are 50/50 or even 60/40, then Blago missed his mark with the true union member taxpayers. In essence, the union bosses were doing what they were told to do in terms of mailings, but the members didn't follow suit.
But, if he wins, why does he care anyway????? He'll be looking to those demographics to pay for the programs he continues to propose.
Too funny, but they will probably grab our tax money and run with it!!! I can see it now, "GOVERNOR BLAGOJEVICH'S ALLKEDS PROGRAM", please parents, enroll early for these free $150.00 sneakers that should be available to all of our children in Illinois.... - Veterans we won't exclude you - you get AllVets, still a great shoe, but of less quality - but you have to purchase in a different county....
Fitzgerald - when he is done putting the Blago cohorts in prison. He has demonstrated he can be bi-partisan in that he will prosecute members of either party. I could vote for a person with ethics like that. And this is Illinois, after all.
