Hmm... of the two above, I actually like Turner's a decent amount. Very simple and clean, which I like a lot.

    Ray's is awful.

there is a colorado equivalent of cap fax. Each week/month they come out with rankings similar to what national journal/stu rothenberg does and what the ap does with college football showing who is up/down in various races/seats. It's far and away the most popular part of the site.

I don't expect you to do it for the lake county sanitation district site, but for the 5-10 big races gov/sen/control of house ect, it might be a good way to drive more traffic to the site, get you some msm press in candidates touting their move up the rankings, a barometer if you will. Also in off years it makes it easier to keep track of things and keeps them interesting.

Of all the sites you mentioned above, Raja's is by far the best. Splash pages are a no-no. They mess with your Google juice and provide an extra step for people to see your message.

Too early. Baseball pennant races, start of high school, college, pro football.

Then come the holidays, winter and the Super Bowl. I'll start paying attention...

...come to think of it, this February primary makes a lot of sense for some people!

i think the primary actually occurs a few days before the Super Bowl this year...the best sites for my money are www.bobforillinois.com (which pains me since i am not a huge fan) and www.proft2010.com. at least those are the best among the gop statewides...however did anyone look at the pat hughes site (and i am not picking on him) but so many sites look exactly like his--its almost like there is one political template and thats it

www.adamforillinois.com is the best Gov site. Most speeches, policy, pictures, general content, and looks great too.

Based on results, I would have to say House Democrats are top notch. Their low key approach to Twitter/Facebook/ Goolash & Baloneyramabama take a lot of pressure off all hands.
