So the Chicagoist feels RB will get his gross receipts tax 'wihtout appearing to raise taxes on “regular people” and finding even more money for school children.' Did not see where the Chicagoist also feels the groups that will pay the gross recipts will generously keep all their prices the same and not show a 1% increase. If that load of corn gets hit with 10 gross receipt transactions as it moves through the system to become food, where will the price of bread be after this is done? But the "regular people" will not know the difference because it is not an "income tax" increase. Now that's thinking!

moody's hospital report only looked at twenty hospitals---a tiny minority----and certainly doesn't represent the state of inner-city hospitals serving mostly no-pay and medicaid patients

Well it is after 6 p.m. and there is 1 item about Jay's bungling bid to change the House rules. Guess that is a statement about how riveting an item this debacle is. Let's just give Jay and his "strategists" a dumber than a box of rox award and move on.
Anybody cover the Governor's campaign stop in Springfield today or his meetings with lawmakers on his tax increases.
