Gordon was a big win for the governor. Blago not only gave tons of bodies to the campaign but his top downstate people were her closest advisors. PP was right, there were over 200 bodies from Springfield just from the Gov. Good work Jehan!

I agree with Tom F. In addition to it being a big win for the governor, it is a huge bloe to an already fragile Danny HYnes. LIke father, like son. Dannyt's daddy opposed Harold Washington for Mayor in 1983, and Danny supported the white man over the African American woman in this race. If he thinks he can run for governor, he should think again. You cant win without the AA vote, and he will never get it.

Obviously, the biggest winner here was Jehan. COngrats Jehan -- good luck!

Mike Jacobs beat Rumler by 1,500 votes last time. This time Mike Jacobs defeated Rumler by 2,400 votes.

Mayer's campaign should have thrown more mud. I don't care what Gordon's people would have scoffed at; Mayer missed a golden opportunity. Black, brown, yellow, white, purple, green- whatever your color, lying about a college degree and having a shoplifting revelation pop up before the primary should dog (and damn) anyone.

Don't you just love Illinois politics?!

Don't forget that Gordon will have some tightrope walking to do though. She also got some real help from House Black Caucus members, who are not always on the same page as the Governor. If she ever has to pick sides, it will be interesting to see what she does.

"Good work Jehan"? Are you kidding me? Let me get this straight... you are congratulating this candidate for winning the primary despite the fact she lies, steals and can't be bothered to follow the laws she is going to be elected to make? Unbelievable.

Blue DuPage? "Lies, damn lies, and statistics" to quote Mark Twain. In the 2004 Presidential race, 219,000 to 180,000 voted Bush over Kerry. Does anybody notice that Kerry,in losing the race, got more votes in Dupage than Obama and Clinton combined?! And this was supposed to be an interesting race for the Democrats.

The Jehan Gordan race was definitely a huge victory for the Governor. It shows the strength and effectiveness of the Governor's field organization. His group of volunteers is impressive and covered a lot of ground to get out the vote for Jehan.
