Looks like the GOP campaigns are already out of gas --- and it ain't even far week. Looks like they are tossing all they got before being pulled out of Bricoe and Caveletto and getting sent to Lake or Kane County.

I don't think bigbyrd's post made any sense at all. seems like the gop'ers are using dumb polling questions to get earned media. I suspect not a whole lot of people are worried about laurel dolt in Kane county

I'm just trying to understand the logic in this press conference - doesn't it spread the rumor as much as it helps? Briscoe (and the Flider oppo earlier) set themselves up as "victims" of negative campaigning and portray the D as an evil partisan. But we all know this is not REALLY a push poll (as the HRs are familiar), but likely a regular poll question only asked to a few hundred people. What's the desired effect?

It will be interesting to see how the Democrats respond and how the media covers this story.

Either the House Republicans aren't doing their job, or they don't care about doing it right. My bet is that after the brutal Doug Hayse race, they were having a pretty tough time finding anybody to run against Gordon. Either Briscoe hid the 911 call from them and they failed to do due diligence on their candidate, or they were afraid they couldn't find someone esle to put up against Gordon and just told Briscoe "It'll be okay."

Ask Blair Hull and Jack Ryan how okay it will be.

Voters must be shaking their heads at how Jason Briscoe gets from "Like all married couples" to "911 call". Jason, most voters just don't consider that normal.

Ok. Assuming it's a regular poll and not a push poll, what you're saying is that Madigan's political staff had to utilize a poll to see if voters are more or less likely to vote for a candidate accused of domestic violence.

Seems a little out of touch to me.

FYI, the HDems deny they did any such push poll. And they have a point, which I'll explain tomorrow.

has any considered that the HGOPS might be behind this poll?

Careen Gordon has no room to talk. People who live in glass houses shouldn't cast the first stone.

Didn't Madigan muscle through a bill that requires the person paying for the phone poll or message to say who paid for it?

Any a claim that Madigan did a push poll? I'm shocked, shocked that Madigan would do such a thing!!!! He's the most honest man in state government for crying out loud!!!!!

And I tend to think for the House Republican candidate to stand up and recognize the problem is a better way of the alternative (like what Jack Ryan did). Admit your embarassing past and move past it now and early.

Two weeks ago, in the local paper, Briscoe referred to Lisa Madigan as "her highness"....sounds like a personal problem with women in general.
