Voters that went to the polls in many towns seem to have said they were fed up with the way their town, school board, etc. were being run.
Waukegan mayor’s race proves to Latino voters they can make difference
And will they also mention their big loss in Palatine and Carpentersville? C-ville especially, lost a mayor and a board member.
I didn't see anything on google map between I-94 and Milwaukee Ave. except 2 golf courses. Will they hold the coin flip on the 18th hole?
I voted in Oak Lawn (Worth Township), and went to opening day. I guess I cancelled myself out.
Anyone who did any observation of this race knew the incumbent was history. Either by viewing the tons of lawn signs for his opponent or by talking to any residents-they were fed up with their Mayor.
I respect his willingness to state his case but I really wonder where he gets his info.
Maybe playing football is what toughened him up as a kid, but I am sure he never anticipated running for Mayor when he was younger, otherwise I would have to believe that Mr. Schwantz would have given some more thought to changing his name. I have to believe that the current and future election sloganry for (and against) this guy could go down in the Comedy Central Hall of Fame.
Mayor O'Connor is out after many terms. Looks like the changing demographics and not assisting Obama caught up with him.
Kudos true Berwyn Dems!
See http://www.pioneerlocal.com/highlandpark/news/1... for all the details.
Not that I mind the loss of O'Connor, but I feel compelled to remind you that Mr. O'Connor served only 1 term. He beat Shaugnessy who was mayor for many terms last election.
